USPS® Carrier Pickup™ versus Pickup On Demand®

Carrier Pickup™ Key Features:

Carrier Pickup allows you to schedule a pickup for your package(s) at the same time your mail is delivered by your carrier. There is no cost when your carrier does not need to make a special trip to pick up the package(s)

Free, regardless of the number of packages
The USPS® carriers will pickup the package(s) when the regular mail is delivered.
Pickup can be scheduled for next day or up to 3 months in advance.
Available with Express Mail®, Priority Mail® and International services. (If Carrier Pickup is requested for Express Mail® or Priority Mail®, the carrier will typically pick up Package Services packages as well.)

To know:

Packages must be ready for shipment before the carrier arrives.
Requests must be received by 2:00AM (CST) on the day your pickup is scheduled.
Individual items cannot exceed 70 pounds or 108 inches in total length and girth.
Postage must be applied to each package.
All mail must have the same return address as the address where the mail is being picked up.

Pickup On Demand® Key Features:

Pickup On Demand® is perfect for those time-sensitive situations when you need to have your package(s) picked up on a specific date in a specific timeframe, at their home or office, scheduled through the Internet or a toll-free number.

The fee is $14.25 per pickup, regardless of the number of packages
Packages are picked up in a specified 2-hour timeframe
Available with Express Mail®, Priority Mail® and Parcel Post®

To know:

Maximum weight per package is 70 pounds.
Postage must be applied to each package.
Packages must be ready for pickup by the day and time specified.
